Art Update - Angel Token Concept
almost 8 years ago – Wed, Jun 06, 2018 at 07:09:34 PM

I've worked on the last token that needed a concept. The Angel Token now has some art direction and it's something that I've wanted to work on for quite a long time. This will be the first of a series. I'm looking forward to creating the story behind these angels.

I've started working on the bird token artwork as well. It's going to be a pretty big painting. I'm working on un-stretched linen. It's a newer surface for me. I happened to work on a very large illustration and it seemed like a great option. So, I want to make more.

When I have the opportunity to travel east and visit the Brandywine Museum, where many of the Wyeth paintings reside, I get this great urge to work around the same size. Wyeth worked large. Working large also works terrifically well for print when the image is reduced.

Art Update - Merfolk Token Drawing
almost 8 years ago – Thu, May 31, 2018 at 08:06:57 PM

Just in time for the last day or Mermay, the drawing for the Merfolk Token.

The bird drawing has been transferred to my canvas. I should be starting that painting next week.

While the artwork is on it way to being completed other items should be arriving to my storage unit in June. I will be picking up playmats next week. Everything is moving forward, forward, forward.

I'll be putting in a huge metal token order next month too.

More art updates! If you're keeping count I need 6 more paintings to complete the set. I'm always moving forward. And with this movement here's the drawing completed for the beast token.

How about some cool cards that just got released?

Everyone is checking out the new Battle Bond set for Magic. Here are the two cards I worked on.

Art Update - Goblin and Storm Crow
almost 8 years ago – Thu, May 10, 2018 at 01:29:33 AM

Hi All,

Goblin Blaster

I have a studio shot of the Goblin artwork for you. The painting is 8x10, oil on paper on panel.

Storm Crow

I was able to get the Storm Crow photographed and set up as a token.

Some insights...

You all know I work digital and traditional. I've been really jamming on all the artwork in oils though and I have to say it's really been fun and given me a huge boost to my productivity in a way. I'm really feeling good about my process since doing so many paintings for my Patreon and this Kickstarter. So, thank you for making it possible.

Cubeamajigs!!

There's another Kickstarter that I really think pertains to your interests. Plus you can get stuff with my art on it too!! Check out the sweet Cubeamajigs campaign if you will. I bet you could use these for classing up your cube games or just organizing in general.

I have some of the beta packs. They are awesome. I would not post a link to a campaign I didn't believe in myself.

Coming soon.

I plan to have one if not two more new artworks to show you this month. Next month I will probably be working on one during the workshop I will be running with Jeff Miracola and Steve Prescott

Art Update - Goblin Drawing
almost 8 years ago – Mon, Apr 30, 2018 at 10:37:47 PM

Always moving forward. I need drawings before paintings and for now I am able to keep getting my drawings finished as I move forward with more paintings. I can't tell you how excited I am to get to some of these paintings.

There are eight more paintings I need to complete. On my calendar I plan to have 3 completed in May, three in June, and two in July.

Part of the fun during the process is being the subject for my own reference. I thought you might get a kick out of this reference photo.
